Why this matters

For a long time, a woman's knowing has been called something else.

Too sensitive. Too much. Hysterical. Woo. We learned early that the quiet certainty in our bellies was something to explain away, double-check, or keep to ourselves. So we got very good at second-guessing. We asked everyone else first. We waited for proof before we let ourselves believe what we already knew.

Meanwhile, science was painted as cold and separate from the soul, and spirituality as soft and separate from the evidence. Most of us were taught we had to choose.

But the deeper I go into my psychology studies, the more I find the research and the old ways describing the same terrain in different languages: the body that knows before the mind does, the nervous system that has to feel safe before we can see clearly, the stories that quietly shape who we become.

When women can hold both, something shifts. They stop second-guessing their knowing, and start standing in it.

What a wānanga is

Not a course you consume. A circle you learn in.

In te reo Māori, a wānanga is a gathering for learning — a space where knowledge is shared, questioned, deepened and passed on. It isn't a lecture. It's a living exchange, where everyone in the room is both student and teacher.

Wahine Wānanga holds that spirit. Each lesson brings a teaching, a practice and a conversation, and the circle becomes part of how you learn. Women walking the same path, fortnight after fortnight, noticing what shifts in each other as much as in themselves.

Over seven lessons, you'll learn to recognise the many ways your intuition speaks, to tell the difference between fear and knowing, and to let what you know shape how you live.

Why I'm bringing this back

I've waited a long time to teach this again.

I spent four years studying Intuitive Intelligence before I was trained and licensed by the Institute for Intuitive Intelligence to teach its seven-lesson course. I've taught it before, in a simpler form. It changed women. It changed me.

But since then, I've kept learning. My psychology degree. My work as a Spiritual Director. My own Māori and English lineages, and the ancestral ways of knowing I've been reclaiming. All of it kept pointing back to this course, asking to be woven in.

So I've re-woven it, in my own way. The heart of the Institute's teaching stays true. Around it now sit the Indigenous psychology that grounds it, the Western psychology that explains it, and the Sacred 13 archetypes that bring it to life.

How each lesson unfolds

Three ways of knowing, in every lesson.

Every lesson moves through the same three layers, so you never have to choose between the wisdom of your ancestors and the findings of the research.

The Intuitive Intelligence teaching

The heart of each lesson, from the Institute's course: how intuition speaks, how to listen, and how to live by what you hear.

Indigenous psychology

Ways of knowing held long before the textbooks: relational, embodied, connected to land, lineage and spirit.

Western psychology

The research that describes the same terrain in its own language — the body, the nervous system, the stories that shape us — so your knowing has its feet on the ground.

The Maiden archetype from the Sacred 13 shoot An archetype from the Sacred 13 shoot

Thirteen archetypes. Thirteen mirrors. One woman, finally seeing herself whole.

The Sacred 13, woven throughout

Meet the faces of the feminine you've been living — and the ones you've been hiding.

The Sacred 13 are thirteen archetypes of the feminine — the Maiden, the Mother, the Crone, the Warrior and more — each with her gifts and her shadow. They're woven through every lesson, giving your intuition a language and your patterns a face.

Along the way, you'll discover your shadow archetype — the one you've been unconsciously living out — and the archetype calling you in: the woman you're becoming.

Who this is for

For the woman who has always known more than she was allowed to say.

You've always had a sense of things

And you've spent years overriding it, explaining it away, or apologising for it.

You want depth with your feet on the ground

Spiritual practice that can stand next to the science, not instead of it.

You're at a threshold

A decision, a change, a season ending — and you want to meet it from your own knowing, not everyone else's opinion.

You're ready for a circle

Not another solo course you'll abandon halfway, but women to learn alongside.

You're drawn to ancestral ways of knowing

And want to explore them with respect, alongside the wisdom of your own lineage.

Women gathered in ceremony on retreat

September 2027 · in person

The retreat: where the teachings become embodied.

Once a year, the wānanga comes together in person. Thirteen women, gathered on the land for four days, to move the lessons out of the head and into the body.

Each woman steps into one of the Sacred 13 archetypes and embodies her, held in ceremony, practice and circle. Accommodation and meals are taken care of by a private caterer, so all you need to do is arrive.

And because this is where my two worlds meet, the retreat includes a group photoshoot with Haerenga Imagery, plus individual portraits of each woman in her archetype — so you leave with images of who you became.

The heart of it

“Ko te manu e kai ana i te miro, nōna te ngahere. Ko te manu e kai ana i te mātauranga, nōna te ao.”

the bird that eats the miro berry, hers is the forest; the bird that partakes of knowledge, hers is the world

Knowledge, in the old ways, was never just information. It was nourishment — something you took into your body and carried out into the world. That's what this wānanga is for.
